David Aldridge

“You’re not any good right now,” David Aldridge tells young journalists. “I don’t mean that in a negative way. I mean you don’t have any experience. So all you can provide is your work ethic.”

Aldridge, the editor in chief of The Athletic D.C. and a former reporter for Turner Sports, The Washington Post and other outlets, advises student journalists to get as much experience as they can in college. “The more clips and reels that you have available to show to people, they’ll see that you’re willing to do the work, that you’re willing to try to get better.”
